expensive because of a tower? I used to use an internal CDR that was
attached to my internal IDE but sat just outside the A1200 desktop
(as, unlike HD's, CDRs are pretty much sealed units!
I only got a tower to tody everything up! :-)
I, for one, wouldnt mind a very lowend G3 as a starter system, my current
240MHz 603e can handle things reasonably well (CDDA audio gets converted
to MP3 at 96% realtime, not too bad!!)....coupled with a decent graphics
card it can play the current gets at 18fps in 800x600... just a little
333MHz G3 would be good as a starter..whilst the system gets its footing.
Give me a 500MHz G4 or above once I've recouped some bank balance and the
AAA titles are coming :-)
